BamSEC, feature by feature.

BamSEC is a filing browser with table tools and an S&P transcript book. The filings, the exhibits, and the ownership tables are already extracted. The transcript book, the table history, and the browser redline are the check.

All companies · The opportunities · Law Insider · Candid · WhaleWisdom. BamSEC stays scored now on the full list.

The filing search, the key exhibits, and the insider and 13F tables are in the graph, which this browser does not join. The old wall, that nothing material sits outside the filing graph, was too strong. S&P's transcripts, back to 2007 and including conferences, are a license. Similar Tables, Merge Tables, and a redline of any two filings are work on text we already hold, and they are not shipped. The pricing page says BamSEC is now part of AlphaSense. That library is a separate row.

The filing

FeatureBamSECKscope
Electronic filingsEvery electronic EDGAR filing from 1994, shown as filed. Browsing does not require a subscription. Some labels BamSEC adds are blurred for non-subscribers on older filings. The accession catalog runs from 1994-01-03. Searchable sections in the newer index are the modern HTML filings, 17.9 million sections across eight form families, 2016 through 2026. Pre-2002 body text on that index was deferred because those filings are plain ASCII. The live SEC Pro search is the product that covers the historical text today.Match
How fast a new filing appearsUsually on the site within a minute or two, and within 5 to 10 minutes in earnings season. A filing that was confidential appears by the end of the day it becomes public. The section index refreshes about every 30 minutes. A minute-level number for the live search is not in the notes.Partial
Search inside a companyBoolean, quoted phrase, and a proximity window, across that company's filings, exhibits, and transcripts. A snippet opens the hit inside the document.SEC Pro searches the filing and highlights the passage. As of the 2026-09-21 cutover note, that product still runs on the current engine. The replacement speaks the same operators, including proximity, and is waiting on the front end. Transcript search is a second corpus.Match
Search across companiesOne search across companies. Filters cover industry, market cap, document type, and a watchlist. Results can be companies or the latest documents.Filing search filters by company, form, and date. A market-cap cut depends on a price, and Console does not put a tape on the filing.Partial
Key exhibitsA sidebar for articles and bylaws, credit agreements, indentures, material contracts, plans of reorganization, and underwriting agreements, including documents incorporated by reference.Credit agreements, indentures, material contracts, and underwriting agreements are the clause file: 30.8 million typed clauses, 1994 through 2026, parties on a company id. Articles, bylaws, and plans of reorganization are in the filing. Image-only exhibits are still the OCR hole.Ahead
Labels on the listEvery filing has a label. An 8-K row carries the title of the press release inside it. List filters cover form, date, title, 8-K category, and the owner on an ownership form. Those filters do not search the document text.Form, date, and filer are in the catalog and the insider file. A press-release title on the 8-K row is not described as shipped.Partial

Transcripts

FeatureBamSECKscope
Earnings and event transcriptsS&P, back to 2007: earnings calls, conferences, investor presentations, and the rest of what S&P carries. Some low-cap and low-volume names are left out. The text requires a subscription, the trial is limited by the S&P agreement, and some corporate plans exclude transcripts. A second help article, about filings, says transcripts come from EDGAR. The S&P article is the one that describes the transcript product.Searchable as of 2026-10-05: about 264,000 calls. Archive indices are named 2014 through 2025, and the live Benzinga indices cover 2023 through 2026. The Benzinga store, checked 2026-09-19, held 24,337 transcripts and 4,344 tickers from 2023-05-24, with speaker names and a summary on 97.8 percent. That store was not in the company database, and the speakers are not described as person ids. The S&P conference set is the license.Partial

Tables

FeatureBamSECKscope
Any table to ExcelEvery table in every filing, one click, values as filed, no merged cells. One download can hold every table in the exhibit. A source link opens that table.Structured financials are a different object: about 473,000 cooked XBRL rows, as of the 2026-09-21 note. An unmodified download of any table in the filing is not described.Gap
Similar Tables and Merge TablesFrom the open table, past versions on other filings. Almost all financial tables and earnings-release tables match. One-off tables often do not. Merge lines the chosen history into one sheet, with the rows aligned and a source link on each table. Annual-only is a download option. No note describes matching a table to its earlier filings, or aligning those rows.Gap

What changed

FeatureBamSECKscope
Compare two filingsPick a second filing in the browser. Additions are green, deletions are red, and tables are in the comparison.Year-over-year diffs are shipped for 10-K risk factors and 10-Q MD&A. A browser redline of any two filings, tables included, is not described.Partial

People and ownership

FeatureBamSECKscope
Insider transactionsOne table. The default is open-market buys and sales, and trades that may sit outside a 10b5-1 plan are highlighted. Filter by owner, date, and type.Form 3, Form 4, and Form 5 are classified, including discretionary versus 10b5-1, and the filer is a person id. That id is the same one on the foundation side.Ahead

The screen around the filing

FeatureBamSECKscope
AlertsEmail when a watched company files or a transcript posts. Search alerts, filing-type alerts, and a documents feed on the home page.SEC Pro has saved-search alerts. As of 2026-09-21 the alert metadata still sat on the old search engine. A one-minute email on every watched filing is not what that note describes.Partial
Link to a sentence or a tableA link to a sentence or a table. The link works for someone without an account.Search returns the highlighted passage. A public link that opens on that sentence or that table is not described.Gap
Paginated PDFA PDF of the filing with real pagination and a footer that cites a stable page.A paginated PDF with that footer is not described.Gap

What the read means

Ahead The feature is data we already hold, in a form an analyst can use.

Match Both products do this.

Partial We have the filing half, or the raw material, and not their finished surface.

Gap They ship it. We do not.

Beside A licensed library that sits beside the filing. Broker research and Tegus calls are that library, on the AlphaSense row.
