WhaleWisdom, feature by feature.

WhaleWisdom is a 13F browser with a clone backtester and a manager score. The current holdings, the track record, and the 13D and Form 4 files are already extracted. The 2001 history and the backtester screen are the check.

All companies · The opportunities · Law Insider · Candid · BamSEC. WhaleWisdom stays scored now on the full list.

The scored row stays now, and the wall stays the same. Nothing in the core is a licensed book. A 13F filer, a 13D position, and a Form 4 person sit on one graph, which their screens keep apart. The real gap is depth. They sell the panel back to March 2001. Our usable panel starts in 2019, and the earlier quarters are a backfill of a public file, not a feed we have to buy. WhaleScore is their formula. A score trained on the same holdings is our number. The pricing page lists Global Holdings on the Standard plan and never says what the file contains, so that name is not scored.

The 13F book

FeatureWhaleWisdomKscope
Current holdingsEvery 13F filer, with buys, sells, portfolio weight, and quarter-over-quarter share change. The about page says the file keeps delisted names and defunct funds.196,788 amendment-resolved filings and 11,646 managers, a full panel from 2019, checked 2026-09-19. The project note puts the holdings table above 77 million position rows. A merger or split stays one position. The filer joins the same company and investor ids as everything else.Ahead
History before 2019The paid database goes back to the quarter ended March 31, 2001. Free access is shorter, and their own pages disagree on how short: the pricing page says two years, the FAQ says nine quarters, and the getting-started page says one year for a backtest.Rows exist before 2019. Pre-2013 is a handful of filings a year, not a panel. The 2001 through 2018 quarters are on EDGAR and are not loaded as a usable history.Partial
How fast a new filing appearsThe FAQ says the site checks the SEC every few minutes and releases a 13F as soon as it is processed. The holdings pipeline runs every four hours.Partial
Puts, calls, and principalThe options search lists put and call lines separately from shares. The page showed 118,653 rows. Principal amounts on convertible debt are a third class. The track record is built on share holdings. A put and call screen is not described.Partial

The model on the book

FeatureWhaleWisdomKscope
Manager track recordWhaleScore ranks filers who clear a gate: 5 to 750 holdings, three years of filings, more than $100 million, and at least 20 percent of the book in the top 20 names. Banks, trusts, pensions, and insurers are out. The score mixes risk measures, including Sortino, Omega, and Calmar, mostly on three-year and five-year windows, then averages the last four quarters. Each manager's disclosed long book is marked at the quarter-end close, held to the next quarter, and compared with SPY. Hit rate and a trailing return are on the row. 768 managers are flagged notable. That is our score, computed from the filings, not a copy of theirs.Ahead
Clone backtesterPick a filer or a group, choose how many holdings to copy, and see the path against the market back to 2001 on a paid seat. Performance uses a total-return price, so dividends and spinoffs are in the number. The workbook has alpha, beta, Sharpe, and Sortino. Pro adds selection by WhaleScore, a hedge, and a book of 30 or 50 names. The replication return above is the whole disclosed book, at the close, without a dividend adjustment and without a screen where someone picks the top ten. That screen is a model on holdings we hold.Partial
WhaleIndexAn equal-weighted book of the 100 stocks most commonly held by the top managers on a five-year WhaleScore. Rebalanced 46 days after quarter end. The chart on the page runs from 2006 and is marked to the prior close. The same construction is a model on the holdings and a price. It is not published as an index.Partial
Combined holdings, consensus, and the heat mapA group of filers can be shown as one book, or reduced to the names they agree on. The heat map scores stocks inside the current WhaleScore set by who is adding, who is cutting, and who holds the name in the top ten. Pro is required for the combined report.Share flow for the notable cohort is already computed, separate from price moves. A report for a group a user picks, and the heat map, are that file and are not the shipped screen.Partial
WhaleTraderThe pricing page includes it on Pro. The about page still says it is coming soon. A 2026 article describes a daily signal read off the 13F book. The holdings a daily signal would read are in the file. The product is not shipped.Partial

The other filings

13D and 13GA search of beneficial-ownership filings. The subscription page says the history starts in 2006. The search page says 2011. The about page says over 15 years. Enterprise gets a nightly file.58,487 filings, checked 2026-09-19. 4,285 are current activist positions and 26,096 are 13G passive stakes. The purpose text is classified. The position sits on the company id.Ahead
Form 4An insider search, and the about page says more than 15 years of transactions. Pro includes an insider backtester.Form 3, Form 4, and Form 5 are classified, including discretionary versus 10b5-1, and the filer is a person id. A backtest that clones insider buys is not described.Ahead
Mutual funds and ETFsThe about page says constituents since 2019, with the changes.N-PORT from September 30, 2019: 84.4 million raw holding rows, equity and debt, checked 2026-09-19. US-registered funds. The bonds inside those funds carry a cross-fund price.Ahead
Form ADVA filer page shows the firm's ADV assets, client count, and a short strategy note. There is an ADV search.Brochure supplements: 73,991 rows and 28,251 people, with firm-to-firm moves refreshed weekly, checked 2026-09-19. The firm AUM block on a 13F page is not that note.Partial

The screen around the filing

FeatureWhaleWisdomKscope
Email alertsFree, and the pricing page says unlimited, on a new filing for a stock or a filer.New 13Fs land in the database on the four-hour run. A consumer email is not described.Partial
Excel add-inPull a filer's holdings, or the holders of a stock, into Excel, with 13D and 13G activity after the 13F date. The Windows installer on the page was last updated January 26, 2021.The holdings are on the API. An Excel add-in that runs this query is not described.Partial
API and nightly filesStandard may pull 50 filers and 50 stocks every 90 days. Pro raises that to 200. The live feed and the nightly FTP of 13F and 13D/G are enterprise. The same holdings are queryable. A nightly flat file dropped on FTP is not the shape we ship.Partial
