QuoteMedia sells the exchange quote, and it resells the filing. The quote is the business. The filing is the pipe we buy today, and the issuer-site widgets are the product we already compete with.
The row stays slice. QuoteMedia supplies the SEDAR feed. The issuer-site widgets are a match, and a page written for their widgets already renders on ours. The tape, Level 2, the wires, SEDI, London and Hong Kong filings, analyst consensus, and the fund file stay theirs. If the SEDAR feed stopped, the filing index and the mining extract already in the graph would remain, and new Canadian filings would need another source.
| Feature | QuoteMedia | Kscope | |
|---|---|---|---|
| SEC filings on the site | The filings module lists the document and returns it as XBRL, HTML, Word, PDF, iXBRL, or Excel. The IR page says the widget updates itself when a filing is released. | The investor widget and the XBRL financials widget sit on the US filing file already parsed. | Ahead |
| SEDAR filings on the site | The same module covers Canadian company filings. Their SEDAR product is the document: a filings call, a headline call, and links to the PDF and the HTML, advertised as 10-plus years. | The filing index is 1,677,842 SEDAR filings across 3,640 companies as of 2026-10-08. New filings still arrive on this feed. | Match |
| What is parsed out of the Canadian filing | The IR widget posts the document. The brochure does not sell a reserve grid, a project NPV, or the qualified person who signed. | The mining note of 2026-08-14 counts about 22,800 resource and reserve rows, about 16,800 reconciled, about 1,600 project-economics rows, and about 2,300 qualified persons, 111 of whom sign three or more issuers. About 27,300 material changes were classified as of 2026-10-08. | Ahead |
| London and Hong Kong filings | The QMod brochure adds London FCA filings and Hong Kong IIS filings to the same widget. | Those two regimes are not a product in the notes. | Gap |
| The quote on the page | Level 1, and Level 2 with time and sales, regional quotes, and market depth. Exchange fees are passed through. Their January 2026 notice lists a professional TSX Level 1 seat at 38.90 Canadian dollars a month, and an external real-time TSX and TSX Venture Level 1 feed at 3,421 a month, printed on that notice as CAD/USD. | The IR bundle ships a realtime quote, an advanced chart, a ticker, and a historical-price lookup. The note on the quote table does not name the vendor. Level 2 is not in the bundle. The daily US history in house is a separate end-of-day file, and the ticker master on that file is attributed to QuoteMedia. | Partial |
| The issuer's own news | The news widget shows headlines, and the IR page includes press releases. | The press-release widget is the issuer's own releases. | Match |
| The wire rack | The news page names 100-plus sources, including Associated Press, Dow Jones, Business Wire, PR Newswire, Canadian Press, Stockwatch, and Newsfile. | A licensed wire is not the open news crawl. | Gap |
| US insiders | The insider module lists insiders, buys, sales, option exercises, and proposed sales for US companies. | 11.28 million classified Form 4 and Form 5 transactions across 19,910 issuers, joined to 209,003 people, checked 2026-09-19. | Ahead |
| Canadian insiders | Their support note of 18 April 2020 says shareholder information comes from SEDAR and insider information comes from SEDI, and that an insider does not file on SEDAR. A later note buckets SEDI codes into acquisitions and dispositions. | SEDI is public and is not loaded. | Gap |
| Dividends, events, reports | The calendar covers IPOs, earnings, dividends, and splits. Email alerts cover price, volume, a 52-week print, news, filings, and an end-of-day summary. | Dividend, events, and quarterly-report widgets ship in the bundle, plus an email list for the issuer's subscribers and a compliance-mail list. A price or volume alert is not that list. | Partial |
| Analyst consensus | The brochure sells Wall Street and Bay Street consensus, recommendation history, target prices, and earnings surprise. | An unpublished broker estimate stays theirs. As-reported earnings are in the filing file. | Gap |
| Scores and ESG | Eleven scores they derive: credit, dividend quality, earnings momentum, price performance, technical, valuation, financial performance, capital efficiency, growth, liquidity, and profitability. The brochure also sells an ESG comparison and does not name the rater. | A score on filings and prices is a model, and that screen is not shipped. A rater whose name is not on the page stays theirs. | Partial |
| A page already built on their widgets | QMod is HTML5, white label, and hosted. Investor relations is business line 6 of 6, after wealth portals, service providers, media, fintech apps, and brokers. The IR page claims the modules meet ADA and WCAG. No dollar price is printed. | A compatibility layer renders a page written for those widgets. A client cut over onto it in August 2026. | Ahead |

|---|---|---|---|
| Streaming feed | The feed page, read 2026-10-17, says 110-plus exchanges, 200-plus APIs, 100-plus news providers, and 99.99 percent uptime. Streaming is tick-by-tick Level 1 and Level 2, over a WebSocket and over Java and .NET libraries. On-demand calls return XML or JSON for quotes, option chains, and company profiles. SFTP files cover prices, financials, corporate actions, fund data, and custom calculations. A support note of March 2024 describes the stream as North American equities, options, futures, currencies, funds, and indices. | A realtime quote on an issuer page is the widget above. A ticker plant, an order book, and an options chain are not in house. | Gap |
| QM Zero | Their post of 27 May 2026 describes a cheaper US quote: real-time regional prices and consolidated US volume, with the consolidated quote and trade delayed, sold so a client can skip the exchange agreement. | That constructed quote is their feed. | Gap |
| Quotestream | Web, desktop, and mobile, plus a white-label enterprise edition and a reseller program. Active Sheets streams the quote into Excel. The page prints no seat price. Logos include Scotia iTRADE, BMO InvestorLine, TMX, Warrior Trading, and ChoiceTrade. | The filings front end is a different screen. It does not stream an exchange. | Gap |
| CFI and ISIN | A tool on the feed page issues a CFI code under ISO 10962, tied to ISIN and the national numbering agencies. | Our company and person identifiers are ours. An ISIN from a numbering agency stays a license. | Beside |

|---|---|---|---|
| Listing calendar | Their QMIPO post describes a daily file of IPOs, follow-ons, SPACs, and listing changes drawn from SEC, SEDAR, and FCA filings. | A US or Canadian listing event is in the filings we hold. A normalized calendar of that kind is not a shipped product. FCA listings are not loaded. | Partial |
| Fund file | The brochure counts 100,000-plus share classes of US and Canadian funds, with returns, daily net asset values, holdings, and filings. | US fund holdings from N-PORT are 84.4 million raw rows from 2019-09-30. That is a holdings file, not a net-asset-value database of every share class. | Gap |
| Options analytics | Research Hub sells an options-recommendation add-on at 49.95 dollars a month. Their options post describes probability screening, volatility, and sentiment on the chain. | The chain is the license. A screen on a chain we do not hold is their product. | Gap |
| Research Hub | Prices read 2026-10-17: a guest and a free account at 0 dollars, Basic at 5.95 dollars a month, Premium at 8.95. The free account includes QM Zero. Premium adds the scores, a Level 2 add-on, 20 years of financials, and unlimited filings. A stock report is 9.95 dollars. Paper trading is 4.95 dollars. Professional users pay exchange fees on top. | The filings and the as-reported financials on that screen are the filing file. The quote, the scores, and the paper account stay theirs. | Partial |
| Hosted terminal and custom indices | Managed services, read the same day, covers hosted sites, white-label platforms, charting, and indices built to a client's methodology. The integrated-trading page returned an error, so the description in hand is real-time data and tools around the trade. Clients named on the page include FIS, Broadridge, the Motley Fool, Business Wire, and Berkindale. | Running a client's index, or hosting their trading screen, is a services contract. | Beside |
Ahead The feature is data we already hold, in a form an investor can use.
Match Both products do this.
Partial We hold the filing or the extract, and not their finished screen.
Gap They ship it. We do not.
Beside The exchange license, the wire, a numbering-agency identifier, and a client's custom index stay theirs. A filing we have already parsed is ours.
